Plexus is the name given to a particular visualization of particles in a cloud. When any two particle nodes draw to within a certain measured value, a visual relationship is established between them–a light bridge, for example. For my version I decided to have the height of the antennae be the connection criteria–any antenna which reaches broadcast height establishes a link with any other at that height.
In Blender, procedural animation can be accomplished via geometry nodes. After getting the light bridge effect to function, I established a floor descent limit for the antennae so they would seat into their columns and adopt the column’s height instead of slipping down inside.
I added a glow sphere to each broadcasting antenna tip, and then set to work polishing with lighting, depth of field, volumetric fog, bloom and baked irradiance. The last touch was to add airborne dust and plasma motes.
