About
Twenty-five years at Pixar Animation Studios.
I spent that quarter-century making art in support of feature film marketing and consumer products, with a side-stream of extra-studio collaborations I’m grateful for — museum exhibits, tactile installations, theme park experiences. The work taught me what happens at the intersection of visionary creative direction, technical depth, and a real commitment to quality and efficiency.
Before Pixar, I went through Texas A&M’s Visualization Sciences master’s program, where I learned to code raytracers and produce animated shorts in roughly equal measure — which probably explains the career that followed. (Gig ‘Em.)
Today I’m focused on growing as a 3D generalist and concept artist, sharpening the technical side where it serves the work, and contributing to a passionate team. Always happy to talk shop — clay.hunter.welch@gmail.com.
